The Defence Procurement Agency ('''DPA'''), is an Executive Agency of the United Kingdom Ministry Of Defence responsible for the acquisition of materiel and equipment, as well as associated services, for the British Armed Forces . HISTORY The Defence Procurement Agency was established on April 1 , 1999 , after it was announced in the Strategic Defence Review to create a reformed, specialised agency, succeeding what was then the Procurement Executive. The DPA is headed by the Chief Executive, Sir Peter Spencer , who also holds the title Chief Of Defence Procurement . The Minister For Defence Procurement is currently Lord Drayson . Its headquarters is co-located with part of the Warship Support Agency near Bristol , England . MAJOR PROJECTS The Defence Procurement Agency manage and has managed a variety of Procurement projects.
