Dean Haspiel




In the mid-80s, Dean worked as an assistant to '', and Walter Simonson on '' Thor ''. In 1987, Dean inaugurated his own comics career when he co-created '' The Verdict '' with Martin Powell . Dean went on to co-create the two-man comix anthology, '' Keyhole '', with cartoonist Josh Neufeld, and later, he flew solo with his "last romantic anti-hero," ''Billy Dogma''.

In 2006, Dean Haspiel converged with 7 other cartoonists to form the online comics studio known as Act-i-vate . It is through this venture that Haspiel is serializing ''Immortal'', the latest adventures of the character Billy Dogma.

Upcoming works include the graphic novel ''The Alcoholic'' with writer Jonathan Ames for Vertigo (comics) in the fall of 2007, his Brooklyn art memoir ''Lift Here To Open'', and continuation of '' Fallout '' with writer Vito Delsante .
