David Pfeffer




Pfeffer was born in New York and was drafted in the US Army during the Vietnam War . He served from 1965 to 1967, and received a Purple Heart . After returning from the Vietnam, and being Honorably Discharged from the Military , he became an active Anti-war Activist .

Pfeffer assisted the Israeli Workforce during the Yom Kippur War , due in part to his Jewish Heritage .

After an unsuccessful attempt in 1968, he was elected to the Sante Fe City Council in 2002 as a Democrat. By 2004, Pfeffer was sufficiently disillusioned with his party as to support George W. Bush in the US Presidential Election, 2004 . In 2005 , Pfeffer changed his registration to Republican.

Pfeffer is running on the issue of Immigration Reform , and on his support for the War In Iraq . He is expected to win the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat. Incumbent Senator Jeff Bingaman is heavily favored to win in the general election in November.
