Prior to creating and developing ''The Sopranos'', Chase produced episodes of '' Northern Exposure '' and '' The Rockford Files '', among other series. He also worked as a lead writer on ''The Rockford Files''. Chase is an Italian American who grew up in a Baptist family in New Jersey . His daughter Michele DeCesare plays the character Hunter Scangarelo on ''The Sopranos''. Chase was friends with John Patterson , who directed every season finale of ''The Sopranos''. Patterson died on February 7 , 2005 . His first original created series was " Almost Grown " in 1988, with Eve Gordon and Timothy Daly. Its premiere was delayed by the writer's strike, and never recovered; Chase called it an "unjustly" failed series; it has something of a cult following. |
