is the main airport serving Davao City in the Philippines . It is the busiest airport in the Mindanao region and is the only international airport in Mindanao serving actual international flights on a regular basis. The airport has a single 3,000-meter Runway . A new terminal replaces the previous Davao International Airport terminal, which lies just across it, in handling domestic and international flights to Davao. The new airport is estimated to handle 1.2 million passengers and 84,600 tons of cargo yearly. The added capacity is also complemented by the latest navigation, security and baggage handling equipments. This aims to cement Davao as a hub for tourism and foreign investment. It was funded by a forty million-dollar loan from the Asian Development Bank , co-financed the European Investment Bank for twenty-five million ECUs , as well as budgetary allocations from the government. The total cost to develop it ammounted to $128 million. After almost a decade, the new terminal was finally inaugurated on December 2, 2003.
