Information About

De9

The DE-9 ( 9 Pin D-shell Connector ) is a type of D-subminiature electrical connector most commonly used for the RS 232 port on the IBM AT and compatible computers.

This connector format was also used for the Monochrome Display Adapter , Color Graphics Adapter , and Enhanced Graphics Adapter video cards. The mouse and joystick for the Apple II and Amiga computers also used this connector, as did the gamepads for the Atari , Sega Master System , Sega Genesis and Amiga CD32 game systems.

DB-9 CONNECTOR

DB-9 is a common misnomer for the DE-9. A true DB-9 connector would have 9 pins in a connector the shape and size of a DB-25 .
