Cutchogue is a Hamlet located in Suffolk County, New York (USA). As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 2,849. Cutchogue is in the Town Of Southold . GEOGRAPHY Cutchogue is located at 41°0'38" North, 72°28'25" West (41.010639, -72.473653). According to the United States Census Bureau , the community has a total area of 22.1 Km&2 (8.5 Mi&2 ). 21.0 km&2 (8.1 mi&2) of it is land and 1.1 km&2 (0.4 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 4.93% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 2,849 people, 1,120 households, and 801 families residing in the hamlet. The Population Density was 135.8/km&2 (351.7/mi&2). There were 1,680 housing units at an average density of 80.1/km&2 (207.4/mi&2). The racial makeup of the community was 93.86% White , 2.42% African American , 0.04% Native American , 0.53% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 1.72% from Other Races , and 1.44% from two or more races. 5.69% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 1,120 households out of which 27.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.3% were Married Couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.4% were non-families. 25.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.93. In the hamlet the population was spread out with 21.5% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 24.7% from 25 to 44, 28.3% from 45 to 64, and 20.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. The median income for a household in the community was $65,469, and the median income for a family was $71,611. Males had a median income of $51,103 versus $34,432 for females.
