For a list of all Watford's current players and their Wikipedia pages, see the club's . ALHASSAN BANGURA Alhassan (Al) Bangura (born 24th January 1988 ) is a Sierra Leonian central Midfielder . Born in Freetown , Sierra Leone, he fled the country upon the death of his father. His father was a member of the Poro Secret Society, and tradition stated that his son must join upon his death. Not wanting to, he went to Guinea where he met a Frenchman, who took him to France intended to make Bangura a male Prostitute . When the man took him to England , he sought asylum. {Link without Title} Discovered by a Watford scout playing in a Park , he joined the Watford youth set-up, and made his debut against Stoke City whilst still a member of the Academy on 30th April 2005 aged just 17, coming on for an injured Gavin Mahon . He started the following game against West Ham United on the final day of the 2004/05 season. In the 2005/06 season he has been a regular in the Watford side, making 37 appearances (24 from the bench) in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and winning the club's Young Player of the Season award. DOMINIC BLIZZARD Dominic Blizzard (born 2nd September 1983 ) is an English central midfielder. He made his debut for Watford against Norwich City on 24th April 2004 , scoring a goal on his debut. He made occasional appearances in his first full season for the club, but became a first-team regular when Adrian Boothroyd replaced Ray Lewington as manager in March 2005 . He started the 2005/06 season in the first-team, but contracted the Epstein-Barr Virus in late September and hasn't played a first-team game since. He returned to the bench for a single game, on 14th April 2006 , wearing a Goalkeeper 's kit. With second choice goalkeeper Alec Chamberlain out ill, the semi-fit Blizzard took the substitute goalkeeper spot, having played the position as a child. ALEX CAMPANA TOUMANI DIAGOURAGA Toumani Diagouraga (born 9th June 1987 ) is a French central midfielder. Having been spotted by a Watford scout in Paris , Diagouraga signed for Watford's Academy. He signed professional terms in November 2004 aged just 17 after he was reportedly scouted by Premiership clubs. He made his first team debut in a League Cup victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20th September 2005. He went on to make another three starts for the club before signing for Swindon Town on loan in March 2006, where he has performed impressively. FRANCINO FRANCIS Francino Francis (born 18th January 1987) is a Jamaican Centre Forward . Having been released by Stoke City, Francis joined Watford's Academy in July 2005. Whilst still an Academy scholar he made his first team debut in a League Cup victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20th September 2005, and also made a subsitute appearance against Leeds . In February 2006 he was sent on Work Experience to Kidderminster , for whom he made 7 appearances, including 3 starts. BEN GILL Ben Gill (born 9th October 1987) is an English central midfielder. Having been released by Arsenal , Gill joined Watford's Academy in July 2005. Whilst still an Academy scholar he made his first team debut in a League Cup victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20th September 2005, and has gone on to make two further cup appearances. JOEL GRANT Joel Grant (born 28th August 1987) is an English centre forward. Joel Grant made his first team debut whilst still a member of Watford's Academy, coming on as a substitute in a League Cup match against Notts County on 23rd August 2005. Whilst still an Academy scholar, he has made 9 more appearances for the club, including 3 starts. RICHARD LEE ''See Richard Lee '' ADRIAN MARIAPPA Adrian Mariappa (born 3rd October 1986 ) is an English central Defender . A former Academy side captain and reserve team regular, Mariappa made his first team debut in a League Cup match against Notts County on 23rd August 2005. He made another cup start against Wigan Athletic in the 3rd round, and has made three other league appearances, including a clean-sheet in his first league start against Hull City . JUNIOR OSBOURNE Junior Osbourne (born 12th February 1988) is an English Left-back . Junior Osbourne made his first team debut whilst still a member of Watford's Academy. Aged just 17, he started against West Ham United on the final day of the 2004/05 season. Having made two more appearances for Watford in 2005/06, he was sent on loan to Kidderminster Harriers in February 2006, making three appearances. THEO ROBINSON Theo Robinson (born 22nd January 1989 is an English centre forward. A A member of Watford's Academy, Robinson was an unused substitute in Watford's victory over Ipswich on 17th April 2006. Five days later, he made his first team debut, coming on as a half-time substitute for Darius Henderson . |
