Curonian Lagoon




The Curonian Lagoon (or by the Curonian Spit and belongs to Lithuania and Russia . The Neman River flows into the Curonian Lagoon . The lagoon itself is cut off from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit. At the northern end of the spit, there is a passage where the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda is situated. The southern end of the split forms part of the Russian Exclave of Kaliningrad . The area around the lagoon was part of the ancestral lands of the Curonians and Old Prussians .
