Cris Ericson is a candidate for United States Senator for the state of Vermont in the 2006 Election . Cris Ericson is the only person in the U.S.A. who has been on any official election ballot for the Marijuana Party . In 2004 she was a candidate for Governor Of Vermont , placing third in a field of six candidates, and also a candidate for U.S. Senator For Vermont , also placing third in a field of six. (Vermont permits candidates to be on the official election ballot for one state and one federal office.) In 2004 Ericson performed, live on television, a Rap song she wrote entitled "Make Marijuana Legal." Vermont now has a state Medical Marijuana Law but Medical Marijuana is still illegal under Federal Law .
