Craftsman is a line of Tool s and lawn and garden equipment, owned by The Sears Holdings Corporation . The company sells the tools in its Sears and Kmart stores. It has been one of Sears Holdings' best-known brand names for decades. Craftsman® is ranked by men as the No. 1 brand in America for overall quality, according to a recent brand survey. Consumers in general ranked Craftsman No. 2 in terms of quality - preceded only by Waterford crystal. Since 1927, Craftsman has sold more hammers and other striking tools than any other brand. SALES Craftsman sells more mechanics' tools than any other brand. For example, more than one million Craftsman sockets are manufactured in a day, and 30 million Craftsman wrenches are sold each year. Since 1927, Craftsman has sold more than 85 million pairs of pliers, 725 million screwdrivers and 28 million adjustable wrenches. Sears sells more lawn mowers and tractors than any other U.S. retailer. Craftsman markets more than 5,000 products in 80 tool and equipment categories. WARRANTY Most Craftsman hand tools have a lifetime warranty. All Craftsman products are covered under the Sears "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy. LAWN EQUIPMENT Sears Craftsman is one of the nation's largest, if not its largest, seller of both walk-behind and riding Lawn Mowers . These mowers, marketed as Craftsman, are primarily produced for Sears by Swedish conglumerate Electrolux . Similar products are sold as Husqvarna , Poulan , and WeedEater . Unlike their Tools , Sears Craftman lawn mowers are generally rated about average in quality. The lawn mowers and other equipment also command a slight premium in price over their other Electrolux counterparts.
