Cosmo and Wanda are main characters on the who live in a bowl on Timmy's Nightstand . Describing themselves (with tongues in cheek) in one episode as being "two halves of a whole idiot", their ability to help Timmy is limited by ''Da Rules'', the all-encompassing set of rules and regulations on fairy behavior. They are a married couple who are both thousands of years old (and immortal as well). They are also an Odd Couple , in that Cosmo is an idiot compared to the compassionate Wanda. Cosmo's overprotective mother, Mama Cosma, is a mother hen who loves Cosmo too much and greatly dislikes Wanda. Cosmo, who had been working as a waiter at a local diner at the time, eloped with Wanda by telling his mother that he is going out for some milk. By the episode "Apartnership!", Cosmo & Wanda have been married for 9,895 years. Cosmo's father appeared in one cartoon when Cosmo (as a baby) accidentally turned him into a fly. He never reappeared since, probably since he was still a fly. Wanda's father, Big Daddy, is head of the Fairy World mafia. He currently holds a monopoly on the garbage disposal business. In an episode where Big Daddy is kidnapped, Wanda has to take over the family business. (The kidnapper is later found out to be Mama Cosma.) Big Daddy hates Cosmo, which parallels Mama Cosma's hatred of Wanda. Despite their hate for their Children 's Spouse s, both are in love with each other. (Whether this relationship will continue remains to be seen.) Also, Wanda has an "identical yet strangely hotter" sister named Blonda, who looks the same except that she is a blonde and she is less of a nag and is less shrill. Blonda stars in the popular Fairy World soap opera ''All My Biceps''. In one episode, Wanda said to Blonda "Mom always liked you best". That statement was the only reference to their mother who never appeared in the series. .]] Throughout history, the actions of the two fairies had caused various historical events: Cosmo was held responsible for the sinking of Atlantis , and Wanda the extinction of Dinosaur s. They have also been fairy godparents to many other notable figures before Timmy and, ironically, one such child was Denzel Crocker , before one of Timmy's accidents revealed that Crocker had fairy godparents. Another one of their godchildren was Microsoft owner and billionaire Bill Gates , as seen in the episode, "Father Time". Timmy will apparently lose Cosmo and Wanda by the time he turns 18, revealed in the movie length episode '' Channel Chasers ''. A running joke involves someone saying Wanda is fat, which might be due to her being in her late 30's or early 40's (biologically, of course). Cosmo has taken in the following pets:
Cosmo was originally envisioned as a fat, bald, lazy slob, and the formerly frumpy Wanda's name was originally going to be Venus. In the '' Oh Yeah! Cartoons '' shorts from which the show originated, Cosmo had a more "game show sort of thing" voice that sounds rather smart compared to the moronic, silly tone he has today. Cosmo and Wanda are voiced respectively by Daran Norris and Susan Blakeslee (who also voiced Mr. And Mrs. Turner , Timmy's parents). Wanda is frequently described as a Nag , as she is usually the first one to tell when a wish is about to go bad, and warns Timmy about it. The stage for her personality was set in Season 2, although it was never referenced until later. Cosmo and Wanda started having frequent Spats near the show's cancelation. Cosmo was always staring at another girl like the Tooth Fairy, Blonda, a doll in a bikini, or Mandie. It is interesting to note that Cosmo and Timmy have almost identical heads; the only things that really set them apart are the different colors of their hair (although their hair is exactly the same otherwise), the colors of their eyes, and Timmy's Buck Teeth (which became more prominent as the show progressed) and pink hat.
