The Population Density was 422.5/km&2 (1,094.5/mi&2). There were 10,746 housing units at an average density of 189.8/km&2 (491.6/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 71.11% White , 2.91% African American , 0.16% Native American , 1.88% Asian , 0.21% Pacific Islander , 2.61% from Other Races , and 1.12% from two or more races. 24.22% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 9,938 households out of which 22.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.7% were Married Couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.5% were non-families. 34.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.83. In the city the population was spread out with 18.0% under the age of 18, 25.2% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.8 males.
