Trinneer went to Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington . While there, he played college football until he left the sport and found acting. He graduated with his BFA in Acting, then went on to obtain his MFA from University Of Missouri Kansas City .

He first came to attention with a strong performance in ''Arcadia'' at the Huntington Theater Company in Boston . He went on to do several guest-starring roles on television, including '' One Life To Live '', '' Sliders '', '' Touched By An Angel '', and '' Stargate Atlantis ''.
