Wales , lying on the
River Dee . It grew as a
Port , and is now an industrial centre, home to three
Power Stations . The major part of Corus Steelworks lies in the town. The town is also home to
Connah's Quay Nomads F.C. and Connah's Quay Cricket Club. Swimming baths have recently been refurbished. Wepre Woods, a major green space in Flintshire, is controlled by the County Council's Rangers. Connah's Quay has a town council of twenty members.
The town's name is believed to have to come from a former landlord of "The Old Quay House" which lies right on the docks in the town, and the docks soon became known As "Connah's Quay".
