Clyde Hill was officially incorporated on March 31 , 1953 .


GEOGRAPHY

Clyde Hill is located at 47°37'49" North, 122°12'60" West (47.630171, -122.216559).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.7 Km&2 (1.1 Mi&2 ). 2.7 km&2 (1.1 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


POLITICS

On the national level, Clyde Hill leans toward the Republican Party . In 2004, Republican George W. Bush received 52 percent of the vote here, defeating Democrat John Kerry , who received around 47 percent.


DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 2,890 people, 1,054 households, and 893 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 1,052.7/km&2 (2,732.2/mi&2). There were 1,076 housing units at an average density of 391.9/km&2 (1,017.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 89.62% White , 0.55% African American , 0.17% Native American , 7.30% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.59% from Other Races , and 1.76% from two or more races. 1.49% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,054 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.3% were Married Couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.2% were non-families. 12.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the city the population was spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 30.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $132,468, and the median income for a family was $150,237. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $50,909 for females. The Per Capita Income for the city was $78,252. 0.8% of the population and 0.8% of families were below the Poverty Line . 0.4% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
