The Sunset Route of the Union Pacific Railroad runs along the western boundary of West University Place, and Dr. Benton's home was very near to these tracks. Resindez was known to be a drifter who moved around the country on freight trains. Dr. Benton was the mother of twin daughters. Maturino Resendiz is currently on death row, scheduled for execution in May 2006, for Dr. Benton's homicide. |
