An Earth Federation Lieutenant (Junior Grade). Christina MacKenzie is a mobile suit test pilot that is selected as the test pilot for the RX-78NT1 "Alex" due to her exceptional ability, and the fact that her colony of origin is where the secret development of the Alex is taking place, validating her reasons for being on the colony. She is a neighbor and friend of Alfred Izaruha , and is officially assigned to data collection (this is true, since she really is collecting data on the Alex). She encounters a young man named Bernard Wiseman who was sneaking around Al's house and knocked him out, thinking he was a burglar. Despite the rocky start, the two got along well. If the reaction of Chris' parents is any indication, their attraction to each other is fairly obvious. In a tragic twist of fate, Bernie is actually a soldier for the Principality Of Zeon , and part of a commando team sent to the colony to destroy the Gundam she is testing. Chris manages to fight off the attack, leaving most of the team dead. Bernie, the sole survivor of the battle, launches a surprise attack on the Gundam in a lone Zaku . Chris unknowingly kills Bernie in battle, Impaling the Zaku through it's cockpit, and suffering heavy wounds herself when the mobile suit explodes. She later leaves the colony to head back to Earth, and asks Al to say goodbye to Bernie for her. Al, who was a friend to Bernie as well, and witnessed their battle, keeps the fact that he was killed to himself. |
