Chris Hoy




Prior to taking up track cycling, Hoy had raced BMX and competed at Rowing for the Scottish junior team.

Hoy studied at George Watson's College , an Independent School in Edinburgh , and the University Of Edinburgh , where he graduated with a BSc in Sports Science in 1999 . He was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University in July 2005.

In the 2005 New Year's Honours list, Hoy was awarded an MBE for services to cycling.
