Choushinsei Furasshuman (超新星フラッシュマン translated as, ''Supernova Flashman'') was the 10th Sentai series produced by Toei Company and Bandai . It also aired on TV Asahi on March 1, 1986 to February 21, 1987 . This series was the first one where the team had a second Mecha .


STORYLINE


20 years ago, five children were kidnapped by an alien race called the Mess Empire. They were rescued by the Flash alien race, which took each one to a different planet for training. Each of them was trained separately from the others in a range of superpower abilities that will allow them to fight the Reconstructive Experiment Empire Mess. When they finally return to Earth, they can only stay here for one year before their special powers fade (''the Anti-Flash Phenomenon'').

Main characters

  • Jin (ジン)/ '''Red Flash''' (レッドフラッシュ): Learned science on Flash Star, main planet of the Flash solar system, inhabited by people vaguely resembling Ultraman . Has great scientific mental powers and scientific knowledge.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Prism Holy Sword, Fire Thunder, Super Cutter, and Red Vul

  • Dai (ダイ) / '''Green Flash''' (グリーンフラッシュ): Gained great strength training on the rocky Green Star planet.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Prism Kaiser gloves, Rolling Knuckles, Super Piston, Knuckle Guards, and Green Vul

  • Bun (ブン) / '''Blue Flash''' (ブルーフラッシュ): Gained speed and agility on the deserts of the Blue Star planet. Is the youngest member of the team.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Prism Ball, Star Darts, Hurricane Volt, Super Cyclone, and Blue Vul

  • Sara (サラ) / '''Yellow Flash''' (イエローフラッシュ): Developed a sharp mind on cold planet Yellow Star.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Prism Batons, Super Blizzard, Mach Blizzard, Snow Freeze, Baton Spark, Super Version, Shocking Pieces, and Yellow Vul

  • Lou (ルー) / '''Pink Flash''' (ピンクフラッシュ): Developed incredile jumping abilities on high gravity planet Pink Star.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Prism Boots, Jet Kick, Bomber Kick, Super Tap, Zero-Gravity Beam, Shocking Hearts, and Pink Vul



Allies

  • Mag (マグ): The Team's Robot Assistant.

  • Doctor Tokimura (時村博士 ''Tokimura-hakase''): Scientist and father of family, one of his children was abducted 20 years by the space hunters. He helps the Flashman with his inventions. In the last episodes, he discovers that Sara is his daughter.

  • Setsuko Tokimura ( 時村節子 ''Tokimura Setsuko''): Doctor Tokimura's wife.

  • Baraki: Another warrior trained by the Flash aliens. Brought the Flash Titan to Earth when Flashking was damaged.



Reconstructive Experiment Empire Mess

Takes over planets, using their lifeforms as fodder for its experiments. Their goal is to transform Great Emperor Lar Deus into the strongest being in the universe.
  • Great Emperor La Deus: Leader of the Reconstructive Experiment Empire Mess. He will eventually transform into monster Za Deusoola.

  • Great Doctor Li Keflen: Creates the empire's beast warriors. Originally from Earth. A traitor who eventually transforms most of the Mess members into monsters.

  • Ley Wanda: Bat-like officer, later powered up to be able to become the monster Wandarla.

  • Ley Nefel: She is cat like and was later powered up transform into a monster, Nefelura.

  • Ley Galus: A brutish commander who died mid-series.

  • Ulk and Kilt: Nefel's assistants, derived from wolf and cat.

  • Sir Cowler and Bo Gardan: Leaders of the alien hunters. Twenty years ago, Cowler abducted the five infants who would later become the Flashmen.

  • Alien Hunters: They are Baura, Hag, Kerao, Hou, and one unnamed member.

  • Zolors: Foot soldiers, green-eyed, red-skinned insectoid grunts.

  • Kraagen (or Kraken): Jellyfish like monster. Enlarges the empire's monsters after they are defeated in human size.



VEHICLES

  • Flashhawks: The team's motorcycles.

  • Star Condor: Plane like flying fortress.

  • Round Base: Box-like flying fortress capable of space travel, brought flashmen to Earth.



MECHA

  • Flash King: Flashman's giant robot. Combined form of Jet Delta, Jet Seeker and Tank Command.

    • Attacks/Weapons: Cosmo Sword (Super Cosmo Flash), King Missiles, King Knuckles

  • Titan Boy and Flash Titan: Flashman's second robot. When not transformed, they resemble a truck (Titan Boy) with trailer (Flash Titan), armed with Radial Cutters (Titanboy), Boy Cannons (Titanboy), Titan Nova (Great Titan). The 1st secondary robot in Sentai history.

  • Great Titan: Giant robot created by the junction of Titan Boy and Flash Titan.
