Chevy Chase is a popular upscale shopping district that features some of the most exclusive shops in the Washington, D.C. area. Mazza Gallerie is an upscale shopping center, anchored by Neiman Marcus , and Stein Mart , Pottery Barn , and the Cheesecake Factory are among the shops and restaurants at Chevy Chase Pavilion . Just above the Mazza Gallerie by the Maryland border are Barney's Coop, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany's, Saks, Clyde's and Dior just to name some of the recent shops that have landed in the Chevy Chase neighborhood. The shops are accessible via Washington Metro 's Friendship Heights station. The public schools that serve Chevy Chase are Lafayette Elementary, Ben W. Murch Elementary, Somerset Elementary, Concord Hill School, Westland Middle School, Alice Deal Junior High, and Woodrow Wilson Senior High. There is a regional branch of the D.C. Public Library, and a community center. The major commercial road is Connecticut Avenue, which, in addition to commercial establishments is home to apartments, a Community Center, and a public library. Parks in the area include parts of Rock Creek Park as well as Lafayette Park and Livingston Park. , Tenleytown-AU , Friendship Heights, and Bethesda . Friendship Heights is generally considered on the edge of Chevy Chase. Rock Creek Park , Western Avenue (which divides D.C. and Maryland), and Wisconsin Avenue are considered to be borders of the neighborhood, but there are differing definitions of the borders to the south, where Chevy Chase meets Forest Hills . |
