Chatham High School opened its doors on March 31st 1966 and was the second high school in Taree , NSW . HISTORY OF CHATHAM HIGH SCHOOL Planning on Chatham High School began in the early 1960s when the public school's P & C Association saw a need for a new local high school when Taree High School began to become over crowded. Chatham High School was established in February 1965, with 280 pupils and 14 teachers located at Taree High School. Students first moved into the current location on Thursday, 31st March 1966. SCHOOL BADGE The slogan for Chatham High School is Semper Intrepidi, which means ''always courages'' or ''always keep on trying even in adversity''. ORIGINAL TEACHING STAFF (1966)
