Charles Hoadley




He was member of the Antarctic Expedition led bei Sir Douglas Mawson in the years 1911 - 1913. Before that he had graduated from the University Of Melbourne in 1911 with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering.

1913 he got the Master of Science degree also from the University of Melbourne. From 1914 to 1916 he was Senior Lecturer in Engineering in Ballarat, Victoria, School of Mines and Industry, before he became from 1917 until his death Principal of the Footscray Technical School, Victoria, Australia.

He awarded the King's Polar Medal (1915), the Order of Silver Wolf (1931) and the Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1936.

Cape Hoadley (sometimes named ''Cape Hoadky'') in the Antarctica is named after him.
