Dame Catherine Tizard (neé '''Catherine Anne MacLean''') ONZ GCMG GCVO DBE QSO (born in New Zealand on April 4 , 1931 ) was a Governor-General Of New Zealand , and the first woman to be appointed to the office.

She was also the first woman Mayor Of Auckland .
