The officially opened as a Museum to dedicate Football in Canada on November 28 1972 . It is located beside the City Hall and Family Courts Building in downtown Hamilton , which is inside the former Andrew Carnegie library on Main Street, between Bay Street and McNab Street. The '''Canadian Hall of Fame''' is easily identified by the slightly-larger-than-life metal Sculpture ''Touchdown'', featuring a successful receiver being tackled. Currently, the has honoured 209 inductees (62 Builders and 147 Players) since it began charter membership to the Hall on June 19 1963 .
