The school was opened in the August of 1996 and sits near the border of Olathe, Kansas and Overland Park, Kansas . Their graduates go to Olathe East High School along with Pioneer Trail Junior High and Frontier Trail Junior High graduates. Grades go from 7th to 9th. The school's mascot is the Bulldog and colors are black & gold. The feeder elementary schools are Bentwood, Pleasant Ridge, Regency Place, and Heather stone. The school has a noted music program. There are many music classes, clubs, and honor groups (such as "CT Symphony"). CT Symphony is an honor group that combines band and orchestra. Students are required to audition if they want to join. Members meet every thursday morning. The combined eighth and ninth grade orchestra was the first in the olathe program to make KMEA, and be on the channel PBS (February 2006). The orchestra also has a highly coveted student leadership program. The orchestra's director is Sherry Wann. The school has a drill team and a cheer squad too. Drill teamers are known as the "Gold Dusters". |
