The California State Assembly is the lower house of the California State Legislature . There are 80 members of the State Assembly. The state legislature meets in the state capital, Sacramento . Assembly Members serve two year terms and face election in years evenly divisible by two. Members of the Assembly are limited to three terms. Their term of office begins on December 4th.
