Byzantine-Arab Wars between Byzantine Empire and Islamic World were the result of Muslim military expansion after the unifications by Muhammed .

The Byzantine Empire had just come out of the exhausting Roman-Persian Wars prior to the Arabian conflict. Upon the death of Muhammed in 632 , raids, and eventually the invasion into Syria .
The Byzantine army, composed of Christian forces, including Armenia ns, Slavs , Ghassanids , and of course, the soldiers of Byzantium themselves engaged the Arab forces. Byzantinans were defeated in 636 at the Battle Of Yarmuk . Sequestering both Damascus and Jerusalem from the Byzantine Empire, the Muslim armies left Antioch to the Byzantine's control.

In the Battle Of Syllaeum in 677, the Byzantine navy engaged the Muslim navies, soundly defeating them in the Sea Of Marmara . This victory bringing a halt to the invasion of Europe and Muslim expansion for almost thirty years.
