GEOGRAPHY Butler is located at 38°47'13" North, 84°22'13" West (38.786909, -84.370142). According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 0.6 Km&2 (0.2 Mi&2 ). 0.6 km&2 (0.2 mi&2) of it is land and 4.17% is water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 613 people, 237 households, and 164 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 1,029.0/km&2 (2,632.4/mi&2). There were 268 housing units at an average density of 449.9/km&2 (1,150.9/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.69% White , 0.49% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.16% from Other Races , and 0.65% from two or more races. 0.49% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 237 households out of which 43.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.4% were Married Couples living together, 16.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% were non-families. 23.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.97. In the city the population was spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 33.9% from 25 to 44, 15.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 87.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.5 males.
