Bunka ( after Kyōwa and before Bunsei and spanned from 11 February 1804 to 22 April 1818 . The reigning emperors were Kōkaku and Ninkō . CHANGE OF ERA Due to the start of a new cycle of the Chinese Zodiac , on the 11th day of the 2nd month (old calendar) of Kyōwa, the era was changed to Bunka ("Culture" or "Civilization")
