Brněnec ( of the Czech Republic . It has around 1,400 inhabitants.

Villages Chrastová Lhota, Moravská Chrastová and Podlesí are administrative parts of Brněnec.



HISTORY

Next to an old trade route, Moravská Chrastová was founded after 1200 by initiative of monks from monastery in Litomyšl . It is first mentioned in document from 1323. During 19th century several textile factories were established here as well as railway station.

During World War II a local factory was run by Oskar Schindler who used it to shield Jews . See also List Of Subcamps Of Gross Rosen .
