Raised in the Bronx by Irving and Molly (Liebowitz) Friedman, Bruce became a force to be reckoned with in the literary world. After attending the University Of Missouri as a journalism major, Friedman served as a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force (1951–53). In 1954 he wed the model Ginger Howard. Ginger Howard Friedman is now an established acting coach and writer. In the same year, Friedman worked for many of the era's famous men's magazines through Magazine Management Company. Friedman ended up as an executive editor in charge of the magazines '' Men '' (not the Present Magazine Of The Same Title ), '' Male '' and '' Man's World ''. In 1962, Friedman published his first of eight novels, ''Stern'', with Simon And Schuster . Bruce Jay Friedman is the father of the writer and musician Josh Alan Friedman , the cartoonist Drew Friedman , Kipp Friedman and Molly Friedman . Friedman currently resides in New York City ; he has divorced Ginger Friedman and is now married to the educator Patricia J. O'Donohue. WORKS
