Wood's first professional work in comics was with the 1997 miniseries '' Channel Zero '' for Image Comics . Although it was a critical success, it wasn't until a 2000 collection by the San Francisco-based publisher AiT-PlanetLar that it gained the popularity it has today. Set in near-future New York City, the tenets of Governor Guiliani have grown into the government initiative called 'The Clean Act'. Designed to protect society, it instead restricts it's free will and self expression. Lead character Jennie 2.5, former media peronsality herself, turns into a defacto information terrorist and enemy of the United States Government. Born in Essex Junction, Vermont, went on to graduate from ''), for the next few years he worked in web design and later video games before going completely freelance in 2003.
