Brian Herbert's novels include ''Sidney's Comet'', ''Prisoners of Arionn'', ''Man of Two Worlds'' (written with his father), ''Sudanna Sudanna'', as well as a biography of his father: ''''. He has also edited ''The Songs of Muad'dib'', the ''Notebooks of Frank Herbert's Dune'', and created ''The Dune Concordance'', massive notes for the Dune universe, so far unpublished. He is most famous for his collaboration with Kevin J. Anderson , with whom he has also written two trilogies of prequels to his father's landmark science fiction novel, Dune . These are more action and suspense-driven than Frank Herbert's books. All New York Times best sellers. Many longtime "Dune" fans prefer Brians more accessable, less technical style to that of his esteemed father. Many Dune purists claim the writing is far less skillful, the characterization is flat and that the books misinterpret or ignore important points core to the original Dune chronicles (see Discrepancies (Dune) ). The collaboration is intented to culminate with two ''Dune 7'' sequels to Frank Herberts chronicles: Hunters Of Dune and Sandworms Of Dune . Herbert claims these will be built on notes left behind by his father, which is another point of controversy between him and harcore fans, who doubt their existence and would rather see them published alone if they do exist, much like Christopher Tolkien 's The History Of Middle-earth volumes.
