Mason was born in Canberra , and was educated at the Australian National University , Canberra, where he graduated in arts and law, at Cambridge University , where he gained a masters degree, and at Griffith University , Brisbane , where he gained a PhD in Criminology . He was a barrister and a Lecturer in Criminology at the Queensland University Of Technology before entering politics. |
