is
Lancaster University 's oldest, smallest, and according to many members, friendliest college. It was founded
1964 , and celebrated its 40th anniversary in November 2004. In
2004 , the college took over the space vacated to the north of the college, by
Lonsdale College , which is now called Bowland North.
The college was named after the
Forest Of Bowland , to the east of Lancaster, and the logo, the Bowland Lady, is a personification of the forest.
