American Department Store that was founded by Solomon Boscov in
1911 . The first store was located in
Reading, PA , and today 40 stores are spread throughout
Pennsylvania and four other northeastern states.
Boscov's is currently the largest family owned department store in the United States, with yearly revenue of just under $1 billion. The stores feature merchandise not normally seen in department stores anymore, such as toys.
The current company chairman is Kenneth S. Lakin, upon the retirement of
Albert R. Boscov .

Federated Department Stores and are being divested as part of the merger with the
May Company .
