Bo & Hope's romance has been on and off since 1983. The couple were married from 1985 to 1995; then from 2000 to the present. Together the couple had two sons, Shawn Brady and Zack Brady. On January 11th, 2006, the supercouple's strength was tested with the loss of their youngest child, Zack, who was taken off of life support after a hit and run accident. The driver of the car that hit Zack turned out to be Bo's daughter Chelsea. This tragic incident has caused a major rift between the couple. Many fans were supportive of both the realistic storyline and Kristian Alfonso's depiction of a mother losing a child. In their many years on the show, the couple has survived plenty of tragedy. Bo and Hope knew each other as kids but became reacquainted with each other in 1983, and on her 18th birthday Bo escorted Hope to her birthday party. Bo gave Hope a book of poetry, and later after following Bo back to his place the two came close to making love. However, Hope's father Doug found them and had a coronary when he saw them together. At the hospital Doug told Hope to stay away from Bo, and she reluctantly did. Doug felt that Bo was not good enough for her because he was only a rookie cop and could not give her a good enough life. Later when Bo seemed to be dating Diane Parker, Hope became involved with the new District Attorney Larry Welch. Eventually, Hope became engaged to marry Larry Welch, but Bo still loved Hope and kidnapped her from the wedding on his bike. Bo and Hope enjoyed a brief reunion however, fearing that her family would be disgraced and that Bo might be in danger, Hope reluctantly married Salem's D.A. Larry Welch in June 1984. Hope learned that Larry was crooked and began to have an affair with Bo. Later that year Hope exposed Larry's illegal activities to the public and she divorced him and reunited with Bo. Hope then enrolled in the police academy and became a police officer. In 1985, Bo and Hope went to England with Shane to stop the Dragon, a terrorist who planned to kill Lady Joanna. Bo and Hope chased the Dragon, and managed to trap him in the Tower of London. As a reward the Queen gave them a wedding, and on May 23, 1985 in St. Mary's Church in the Coswolds Bo and Hope were married. In 1986, Bo and Hope moved into the Kiriakis Mansion when Bo learned that Victor Kiriakis was his biological father, but it caused problems for Hope. Hope was pregnant at the time, but she miscarried. She left Bo, who refused to leave Victor's because he was trying to bring down his father's crime organization. Bo and Hope worked things out eventually and moved into their own place and Hope became pregnant again and gave birth to Shawn-Douglas Brady in April 1987. Soon after Bo bought "The FancyFace" and he and Hope left to sail around the world. Bo and Hope returned to Salem in 1990 and soon afterwards Hope disappeared and was believed to be dead. Bo was left to grieve for his lost wife and became bitter and angry with all those around him. He became acquainted with a young doctor named Carly Manning who helped him get through his loss. Bo and Carly fell in love and bacame engaged however, she left Bo to reunite with her former lover Lawrence Alamain. Bo soon found love with Billie Reed who was a former prostitute recovering from a drug addiction. When Billie Reed went on trial for the murder of her father Curtis Reed, Bo stood by her. After Billie was found innocent she and Bo were married. Around this time Hope returned to Salem with amnesia and called herself Gina. There was some controversy as to whether Gina was actually Hope or if this was a setup by Stefano DiMera. They had DNA tests run to determine if she was Hope, but they were inconclusive. All of Hope's dental and fingerprints were lost do to a computer problem, so there was no concrete way to prove that Gina was Hope. Gina felt an urge to join the police force and her psychological profile matched Hope's. Bo eventually believed that Gina was Hope, but Billie wasn't convinced. Finally Hope regained all of her memories and wanted to reunite with Bo. However, Bo decided he wanted to stay with Billie so he divorced Hope. When Billie realized that Bo had not given his marriage to Hope a fare shot, she left Salem so the two could try and work things out. Even though Billie left him, Bo was determined to find her. Bo and Hope's divorce papers come through and Bo and Hope sign them because it was what Bo wanted. However, Bo continued to find himself carrying deeply for Hope. The following year, the couple rekindled their love and decided to remarry. As the couple planned their second wedding they moved into the Fancyface together but Bo knew that Hope longed for a house. Unfortunately, Bo couldn't afford a house on a cop's salary. However, Hope became a model at Titan and suddenly found herself with more money than she knew what to do with. Bo & Hope were suppose to remarry in late 1996 but Billie Reed returned to town and Bo struggled with his old feelings for her. Hope became jealous and after many misunderstandings began to believe Bo and Billie were having an affair which caused her to postpone the wedding. Hope and Shawn D moved into her grandmother Alice's house and one night when Bo was drunk he gambled away the Fancy Face. Later, the FancyFace was burned to nothing in a fire, preventing Bo from trying to buy the boat back. Bo began working with Billie in a undercover operation to try and bring down a drug cartel in Salem. When Shawn D. walked in on a drug deal at school, he was shot by the dealer. Shawn D. was rushed to the hospital but was okay. Hope blamed this incident on Bo and Billie and officially ended her relationship with Bo. In the following months, Bo and Billie successfully brought down the drug cartel of Salem. Believing that Hope would never go back to him, Bo remarried Billie in Rome. Soon afterwards one of the drug dealers they helped to put away broke out of jail and got Billie hooked back onto drugs. Bo helped Billie over come the drugs and they came back to Salem to start their new marriage together. Bo and Billie's happiness was short-lived because soon after returning to Salem, Bo realized he would never get over Hope and that she was the true love of his life. Bo separated from Billie and reunited once again with Hope. Soon afterwards, Billie discovered she was pregnant with Bo's child. When Hope learned of this she broke things off with Bo. Bo stood by Billie but would not move back in with her. Billie was very worried that her drug use would have a negative affect on the child. Later, the doctor told Bo that because of her drug use, Billie needed to have a stress free pregnancy or she could go into premature labor or possibly miscarry. During this time Hope began piecing together the time she spent during her four year disapparance. Hope discovered that during the time she was missing, she was posing as Princess Gina Von Amburg. While she was Gina, she stole many expensive art paintings. Hope went down to Louisiana to further investigate this and Billie followed her there to confront her. Billie went into premature labor in Louisiana and gave birth to a daughter who she named Georgia Brady. Later, Billie was told that her baby had died when in reality Stefano DiMera had arranged for the child to be given away to another family. Bo and Billie grieved for the loss of their infant daughter. However, soon afterwards Bo told her that he still loved Hope and wanted to make a life with her. Billie was outraged and realizing that there was no possible way she could now hold onto Bo since their baby was dead, she finally consented to a divorce. Once again, Bo and Hope were finally able to reunite. Hope learned that Stefano Dimera had given her all of Princess Gina's memories which were installed on a chip. Hope faced an identity crisis in 1999 when she got into a car accident which erased her memory and left her only with memories of being Princess Gina. Princess Gina and John Black had shared an intense love 20 years earlier and Hope with Gina's memories set out to reclaim John. She kidnapped John and turned him evil before the two made love on the yacht. After Stefano found them and got rid of John, he and 'Gina' made love. 'Gina' planned to go to Paris to get the letter that would bring her and John back together. While in Paris Bo showed up to rescue Hope and get her to try and remember her life with him and their son. Bo was finally able to get through to her and the two made love, but she and Stefano managed to be held hostage in the real Gina's castle while the real Princess Gina who turned out to be alive this whole time took over Hope's life. When the real Princess Gina was killed, Bo set out to look for Hope. During the time Hope was held hostage, she discovered she was pregnant. It took many months for Hope to be rescued, and whe she finally was, everyone was shocked to discover she was pregnant. Hope believed the child to be Bo's, but their was a possibility that John and Stefano could also be the father of her unborn child. Bo and Hope secretly remarried right before she gave birth to her second son. In June 2000, Hope gave birth to a son that they named John Thomas Brady. They called the baby J.T. Six months later, Bo and Hope held a big wedding where they renewed their vows in front of family and friends. After having DNA tests done on J.T., Hope was led to believe that the baby belonged to John. Unbeknownest to her, the baby didn't even belong to her...the child belonged to Marlo, a niece of Stefano's henchman Rolf, and had been switched at birth via Stefano's instructions. Abe & Lexie Carver's adopted son Issac was in fact Bo & Hope's biological son. The boys were over a year old when they learned that Bo and Hope were raising Marlo's son with Glen Reiber, and Abe and Lexie had Bo and Hope's son. Bo and Hope immediately demanded that Lexie return her son, and also started proceedings to keep Glen and Marlo's son. Eventually they lost custody of little J.T. to his natural father, and Abe relinquished custody of little Isaac (renamed Zack) to Bo and Hope. Not long after, Bo and Hope had new tests done to see who the real father of Zack was and were thrilled to learn that John wasn't really the father after all; Bo was. Their happiness was short lived as Hope's ex-husband Larry Welch broke out of prison and kidnapped her. It took many months to once again rescue Hope. Larry Welch ended up being killed not long afterwards. Bo and Hope both rejoined the police force to investigate the Salem Stalker case in 2003. Hope hurt for Jennifer when Jack was the second victim, but was utterly devastated when Maggie Horton was the third. With each victim, Hope's pain got worse, but nothing was as bad as watching Bo suffer through the loss of not only his mother, but also his father and half-brother Roman as well, then Hope's own grief when two of the final victims were her father, Doug, and lastly her beloved grandmonther Alice. Hope ended up going after Patrick Lockhart, and the two ended up trapped on the island of Melaswen. Although desperate to get back to her husband and sons, Hope was thrilled to be reunited with loved ones she thought were dead. She managed to get away from the compound and meet up with Jack Deveraux, but it wasn't long before they were separated. Once Bo ended up on the island he and Hope were determined to get off, but there was a new problem. One of the island residents was Billie Reed, Bo's ex-wife. After getting off the island and getting back to Salem, Hope was determined to put what happened on the island (including Billie coming back) behind her, but when Bo and Billie learned their long-believed dead daughter Georgia was really alive and well, Hope found herself sitting on the sidelines as Bo moved heaven and earth to help Billie find their lost little girl. Bo and Billie were successful in tracking down their daughter. They learned that their daughter was Chelsea Benson who was recently orphaned when her adoptive parents died in a car accident. Billie let Chelsea move in with her and together her and Bo tried to form a relationship with Chelsea. Bo and Hope worked on getting their relationship back together, and Bo bought the two of them a new boat, Fancy Face III. Everything seemed to be getting better, and Hope was even trying to work on accepting Bo's long-lost daughter Chelsea, but her world fell apart when Zack died after being the victim of a hit and run on New Year's Eve. Hope was shocked and furious when Billie confessed to the crime. In reality Chelsea was really the hit and run driver and both Bo and Billie were covering up for her. When the truth came out Hope was so devasted that shortly after Zack's funeral she left Bo and left Salem. Hope even missed her son Shawn's wedding to Mimi Lockhart. Recently, Hope has begun divorce proceedings against Bo.
