The Birmingham Bulls were an Ice Hockey team based out of Birmingham, Alabama that played in the World Hockey Association , playing from 1976 to 1979 . Their home ice was Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center . Previous to being in Birmingham, the team was known as the Ottawa Nationals and Toronto Toros . It was a somewhat eclectic franchise, going from a goon outfit to a rookie haven over a single off-season. A team by the same name played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1992 to 2001 , in the same arena. The team was moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the 2001 - 2002 season; it is being moved again to Stockton, California for the 2005 - 2006 season. SEE ALSO |
