billy mann (real name: '''William Hort Mann''') was originally a Singer / Songwriter , then Record Producer /songwriter and entrepeneur who started his career living in a car and playing on street corners. Born in Philadelphia, Mann is one of the city's brightest hometown-boy success stories. Originally signed to A&M Records in 1994 after being discovered by 80s record producer Ric Wake, Billy Mann went on to record two solo efforts (Self-Titled 1995 and Earthbound 1998) that yielded critical acclaim and included collaborations with top musicians, including songwriter Carole King , as well as moderate hits internationally, including ''Ain't Gonna Keep Me Hangin' Around.'' Billy Mann has written, co-written and produced scores of songs including '' God Is A DJ '' and '' Stupid Girls '' for P!nk (aka. Alecia Moore), ''For You I Will'' for Teddy Geiger, "Love Lives In Strange Places," "This Is Love" and "Still In Love With My Ex" for Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, and '' With You '' for Jessica Simpson among others. Mann has written and/or produced numerous #1 and Top 10 singles in formats outside of Mainstream Pop such as ''Do It For Love'' (Hall & Oates), ''Sending You A Little Christmas'' ( Jim Brickman featuring Kristy Starling ), ''Treat Her Like A Lady'' ( Celine Dion ), ''Tuesday Afternoon'' ( Jennifer Brown ), ''We Are Alive'' ( Paul Van Dyk ), and ''Love Shy'' ( Kristine Blonde ), amongst several others.

In addition to his writing and production work, Mann owns a successful management company (Stealth Entertainment), several publishing companies and a record label (Cred. Records), is published as a music columnist (Seventeen Magazine), and has several interests in new media companies. Married with two children, Mann resides in Connecticut and New York.
