Bill Smitrovich (b. May 16 , 1947 in Bridgeport, Connecticut , USA ) is an American actor who stars in movies and on television. Smitrovich has starred on many TV series. He is best known for his role on the ABC hit series '' The Practice '' as Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Walsh. Smitrovich's first tv series role was in the 1980s series '' Crime Story '' as Det. Danny Krychek; some other roles include that of Inspector Cramer on '' A Nero Wolfe Mystery '' and on '' The Henry Lee Project ''. Smitrovich appeared in the pilot episode of the 1980s hit series '' Miami Vice ''. He also starred on the series '' Life Goes On '' as Andrew Thatcher. Smitrovich has starred in many television movies, for example playing Alexander Haig in the 2003 biographical tv mini series '' The Reagans '', as well as roles in '' Futuresport '' ( 1998 ) and in '' The '60s '' ( 1999 ). Smitrovich's well-known movie roles are in the 1985 movie '' Silver Bullet '', as well as in films like '' Renegades '' ( 1989 ), '' Independence Day '' ( 1996 ), '' The Trigger Effect '' ( 1996 ).
