A Democrat , Dufty was elected a supervisor from the city's eighth district in 2002 for a term ending January 2007. The district includes the Castro, Noe Valley, Glen Park and Diamond Heights neighborhoods. He was educated at the University Of California At Berkeley and is openly Gay , living with his partner, David Peckman.
