The BVG also took part in the Berlin M-Bahn project in the 1980s until the beginning of the 1990s . The project was dropped with the fall of the Berlin Wall . It was also responsible for the Berlin S-Bahn of West Berlin between 1984 and 1994 . The S-Bahn is currently managed by the S-Bahn Berlin GmbH . The BVG launched ''MetroNetz'' on 12 December 2004 which remodeled the tram and bus network to create 24 Tram and bus lines (with M prefix) covering parts of the city that weren't served by S-Bahn or subway. |
