He got his start in business in his late teens when he teamed up with Michael Radomire , a friend from Eton , to seek out clean technologies for his uncle Edward Goldsmith to invest in. He had a particular interest in renewable energy, alternatives to chemicals, clean industrial processes and environmentally sound technologies yet market competitive. Goldsmith has stated that he will not invest in anything that is bad for the environment. Goldsmith is the youngest child of the late billionaire Sir James Goldsmith and his 3rd wife Lady Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart . He has an older sister, Jemima Goldsmith , and an older brother, Zac Goldsmith . He was raised at Ormeley Lodge, the family home, in Surrey and in France . He received his education at Eton . When his father died in 1997 , Goldsmith inherited an estimated £300 million fortune. In 2002 he married heiress Kate Rothschild , daughter of the late The Honourable Amschel Rothschild and his wife Anita Guinness (The Hon. Mrs Rothschild) of the Guinness Brewery family.
