In the late '90s, Edlund collaborated with Indie German Expressionist film-maker Lisa Hammer and her husband E.A. Hammer on the film Crawley . In the early '00s he was employed by Joss Whedon at Mutant Enemy , first on '' Firefly '' and then later on the final season of '' Angel '', writing and directing the Hugo Award nominated episode Smile Time . Edlund has recently completed a script for the new season of the animated series '' The Venture Bros.
