The station was opened by the London Midland & Scottish Railway , probably in 1890 . It was sited on the north side of Kenton Lane to the west of Belmont Circle. There was originally a single platform and the station was designated as a halt. The station was rebuilt with an island platform and a passing loop, opening on 12th September 1932 . After being deemed unprofitable and unnecessary as part of the Beeching Axe , the station was closed on 5th October 1964 . EXTERNAL LINKS |
