Bellerose is a Village located in Nassau County, New York in the USA . As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,173. The Village of Bellrose is in the Town Of Hempstead near the western county line. HISTORY The village was founded by Helen Marsh. GEOGRAPHY Bellerose is located at 40°43'24" North, 73°42'59" West (40.723464, -73.716282). According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 0.3 Km&2 (0.1 Mi&2 ). 0.3 km&2 (0.1 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,173 people, 378 households, and 333 families residing in the village. The Population Density was 4,529.0/km&2 (12,207.3/mi&2). There were 384 housing units at an average density of 1,482.6/km&2 (3,996.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the village was 90.79% White , 0.43% African American , 0.00% Native American , 6.65% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.85% from Other Races , and 1.28% from two or more races. 4.35% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 378 households out of which 42.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.3% were Married Couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 11.9% were non-families. 9.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.32. In the village the population was spread out with 25.4% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 28.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.7 males.
