Beijing University of Technology
Beijing University of Technology (北京工业大学) (formerly known as '''Beijing Polytechnic University'''), often called '''Beijing Tech''' or '''Beigongda''' (北工大), was established in 1960. It is a key university under the jurisdiction of the Beijing Municipal Government . The University has established a multidisplinary academic structure, offering a variety of programs and is involved in diversified research in the fields of Science , Engineering , Economics , Management , Liberal Arts, and Law . The university is considered to be among the top 3% of the universities in China. Beijing University of Technology is located in the Southeast part of Beijing. The campus covers an area of about 800,000 square metres with 4,940,000 square meters of floor space. There are more than 16,000 students enrolled in Beijing Tech of whom over 12,000 are undergraduate students, almost 2,000 are master's degree students, over 300 are doctoral degree students, and 200 are international students. In addition to these students, there are over 10,000 continuing education students. The university's strategic plan for the tenth five-year-plan is to continue the development of the key academic disciplines, cultivate the growth of its campus culture, promote the university to be a model for other higher education institutes under the Beijing Municipal Government, and prepare the ground for establishing Beijing Tech as a first class research university of the country. Participate in the economic construction and social development of Beijing, enhance cooperation internationally, and contribute to the New Beijing Great Olympics.
