Information About

Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts (shortened to Beavers), are a section of The Scout Association in the United Kingdom for 6 to 8 year olds.

Once a Beaver becomes 8 years old they then move onto Cubs Scouts .

ORGANISATION

The Beaver Scout Colony is run by a Beaver Scout Leader with the help of Assistant Beaver Scout Leaders, Helpers and Young Leaders from the Explorer Scout Section.

A Beaver Colony usually meets once a week.

AWARDS & BADGES

Beavers have three Challenge badges, five activity badges and their highest award the Chief Scouts's Bronze Award.

The Challenge badges are the Outdoor Challenge, Discovery Challenge and Friendship Challenge. These are normally completed during the Colony meetings.

The Activity badges are Animal Carer, Faith, Experiment, Creative and Explore. These badges are usually done as individuals but can also be done as a group.

The Chief Scouts's Bronze Award is the highest award available in the Beaver Scout Section. It is gained by completing the Outdoor Challenge, and either the Friendship or Discovery Challenge, plus a personal challenge.
