Bayerisch Eisenstein is part of Bayerischer Wald and near to the first german National Park established in 1970 . It is the German half of a Border town. The other half, ''Železná Ruda'' (Boehmisch Eisenstein in Czech Republic ), lies 2 kilometres further northeast. During the Cold War the town's Railway Station was split by the border. Today Deutsche Bahn has reopened its route from Munich to Prague . Bayerisch Eisenstein lies on E53 road from Nuremberg to Pilsen . |
